This is because these trailers are hitched differently than conventional ones, with the hitch located over the truck bed, which alters how the truck and trailer interact. The Ford F-150’s BLIS® radar sensors are designed to detect vehicles behind the truck, but with gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers, the positioning and size of the trailer can interfere with sensor coverage. As a result, the system deactivates automatically to prevent false alerts or missed detections.
